Nigel Stanislaus, Maybelline New York Makeup Director

Nigel was born and raised in Singapore, studied graphic and fashion design in New York and now lives and works in Australia dividing his time between Sydney and Melbourne. Nigel has a truly unique approach to the art of make-up and by combining theory with his great attention-to-detail, he has honed his technique and works extensively both in Australia and overseas making the transition between fashion editorial, runway, music, advertising and celebrity with ease.

It was his exquisite work and passion for creativity that was perfect for the Maybelline NY brand and in 2009, Nigel became the first Maybelline NY makeup artist in Australia.

At the forefront of translating the latest trends and responsible for creating the season’s hottest looks, Nigel has had the privilege of working backstage at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week New York for the past 3 years and has worked on shows for William Rast. L.A.M.B, DKNY, Wes Gordon and Betsey Johnson. In 2012, Maybelline NY became the official makeup sponsor of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Australia, and again Nigel worked his magic and collaborated with some Australia’s most celebrated designers including ksubi, Johanna Johnson, Michael Lo Sordo, Alice McCall, An Ode To No One, Sara Phillips and Lisa Maree.

From backstage, photo shoots and advertising spreads, Nigel has worked with several celebrity clients including Olivia Newton-John, Agyness Deynn, Kelly Osborne, Mel B, Peaches Geldof, Hillary Duff, Ronan Keating, Michael Buble, Australia’s Melissa George, Ruby Rose, Natalie Gruzlewski, Sophie Monk, the Veronicas, Darren Hayes and Natalie Bassingthwaighte plus the original supermodels Linda Evangelista and Cindy Crawford. And we can’t forget MNY spokesmodels, Erin Wasson and Kemp Muhl.
