Lifter Plump® Plumping Lip Gloss

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received two shades, 001 ~ Blush Blaze and 008 ~ Hot Honey. They both are gorgeous and so shiny!! I was very shocked at Hot Honey and how beautiful it looks on the lips because at first I was thrown off by the color at first. The original lifter glosses are my go to’s and these are just like them but with BURN. I definitely noticed a plumping effect after about 5 minutes. It starts off feeling pretty normal and mild then the burning gets pretty intense, but nothing crazy to the point that it hurts too much. The plump/burn lasted about 30-40 minutes but the gloss left a gorgeous shine/sparkle that made my lips so plump even though the burn was gone!!

The Maybelline lip gloss plump is designed to contour your lips, give them fuller looks and enhance lips 💋 with moistures also make lips nore beautiful with the shades of color. So the feel of it when i applied on my lips was tingling but it is not bad, that's normal when you use lip plump. The blush glaze is little too light for my dark lips, it is just sheer color. I think if i choose different shade, it will be better.
But don't overuse the lip plump, it will dry out the lips.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I tried Maybelline Lifter Gloss Plump in the shade 001 Blush Blaze. The color is gorgeous. It is a cool pink with a golden hue. The burn started immediately and the intensity began to progress for a few minutes. I took a picture with the gloss on after 10 minutes and then I went to the bathroom and wiped it off with a makeup remover. The burn was too much for me. You can see in my second picture how the lips look right after the gloss is removed. The tingle/burn sensation was gone in a few minutes.
I think the product will be perfect for someone who loves plumping glosses and doesn’t mind the feeling. I also think it will look gorgeous on top of lipstick.

I bought this product in January 2025 as I saw how nice it made my friends lips and I wanted to try it. The worst mistake from my end. Didn’t mind the burning I’m not saying this product is bad. I have had multiple products from this brand and I love them however this plump lipgloss gave me an allergic reaction and an infection it is now close to March and it’s still not gone. I didn’t even know I was allergic to anything. The skin around my lips is now red all the time. It’s an open wound and it flakes all the time. It won’t go away. Worst mistake of my life I really do wish I could get my money back because I feel anxious going out anywhere now I hate it.

This product is a big fail. If you don’t know anything about it, and you just see the big letters on the tube that say Lifter PLUMP, you’ll assume this product will give you luscious, fuller lips. Instead, you get pain, not the “tingling” sensation that the marketing folks would have you believe.

The color is too sheer and lackluster.
It’s greasy, and does not dry on the lips.
There was no visible “plumping” of my lips.
The tingling warning on the tube is so small it’s impossible to read, and the signage at the store was not informative.

I hope this item is returnable as I cannot use it. I’d give it a zero if I could.

Look, all plumper burns; it's to be expected. This one is no different. Is it intense? Probably for most. If you eat hot wings, you can handle this. It's a gloss so don't expect it to stay longer that a few minutes if you plan on drinking, eating or talking.

Other than that, it just didn't plump at all. Just got a nice red irritation ring around my mouth. This seems to be one of those products that is for people who don't actually need it. Ya know what I mean? Those of us who have to squint in a magnifying mirror to find our lips won't get any help from this. Back to hoping to hit the lottery for some plastic surgery money.

The gloss does feel a bit sticky but I don’t notice it after a few minutes. I did get a tingly/mild burning sensation after applying it but after reading the description, this is normal. I did notice a slight difference in the volume of my lips a little while after I applied it. There are several shades to choose from and this shade would be flattering with any skintone. It feels very hydrating and it lasts for several hours before I need to re-apply, even after eating. I'm very impressed and will definitely be purchasing other colors!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] High hopes turned into burning lips! I absolutely loved the shade and smooth glide of the Maybelline Lifter Liner. It went on like a dream, and the color payoff was fantastic. Plus, it definitely delivered on the plumping promise.

Here's the kicker: big-time burn! I've used lip plumpers before with no problem, but this one, whoa nelly! Turns out, it has chili peppers, which explains the firestorm on my lips. It was a real shame because the color and application were fantastic. If you have sensitive skin, maybe steer clear of this one. But for those with ironclad lips, it might be a plumping winner! (P.S. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a lip plumper version of the classic lifter gloss. It definitely brings the heat with chili pepper extract. It’s hot! So if that is something you are sensitive to then you might want to proceed with caution. I can handle the heat but I honestly don’t see much of a plumping effect. However I like the component and consistency of this gloss. It’s not sticky, not scented and has a huge doe foot applicator which means you really only need to dip in once. Comes in a range of colors. I have received Mauve Bite which is a pretty dusty rose color. Pairs well with the Lifter Liner. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Tried both of the Maybelline Lifter Gloss Plump. The colors are really nice. Blush Blaze and Hot Honey. The Blush has a pretty pinkish tone with some sparkles. I applied it to clean lips it gave me a slight tint and about 4 - 5 mins later I did start to feel a slight tingling. Nothing overbearing or uncomfortable but if you tend to have sensitive lips or skin than this might not be for you. My lips plump up and it definitely was noticeable. The Hot Honey color was a bit lighter than the Blush Blaze but had a nice sparkly hue to it. I have been applying the glosses on top of my lipstick for a pretty color combo and to give my lips a fuller look. I definitely recommend

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] First off, this tube of gloss is big in my opinion. You get a nice amount for what you pay. The color payoff is subtle. Very sheer and this pink blended in my lips to the point that I just had a slight gloss, sparkle from it. That said, it can be worn alone or layered with a more dense lip color. The plump effect is also subtle. Right from the start of the application, it felt like a tingling sensation. Not exactly a burn but like you ate something spicy and it remained on your lips. Lasted for a good 20 minutes before it basically went away. The gloss itself doesn’t have a smell, so non scented.

For it’s class, being a more sheer plumping gloss, I think it’s worth a try.

When I saw the pepper on the bottle, I was like, meh, whatever, and I didn't expect it to work! But it works alright, only down side is that you have to reapply it after few hours or whenever you feel it wear off, the color is bit dark for me but I apply tiny bit and works for me it looks good on me and plumps my lips so I'm not gonna bother lol, and I have not experienced any side effects so I can't say anything about that but be careful trying this head on, start with bit than go big cause it is HOT!!

I am here for it!!!From the moment I applied it, with the soft oversized applicator I fell in love! I tried the shade Mauve Bite! It is beautiful color and certainly packs alittle heat! It definitely has a slight tingle, almost like I kissed a chili pepper lol but not bad and the plumping effect is stunning and very natural. My lips appear fuller and more defined, subtle but noticeable! This Lifter Plump Gloss makes my lips look great and I can’t wait to try some of the other shades!

And I gotta say I wasnt seeing a difference in color when on the two I got to sample; blush blaze and hot honey. The plumping action wasnt there for me honestly, maybe because I normally eat spicy food. That being said, here is the annoying part of the gloss, the heat on your lips stays the whole time. Its not as bad if you have a lipstick on underneath but still no plumping actiong for me like some others I've used previously. I wouldnt buy this, im glad i got to try it for free as i was curious how well it works.

This is a beautiful pinky/mauve shade with just the right amount of sparkle for that special day out. Upon application, I could immediately feel the tingle and my lips were feeling volumptuous and fresh. It gave me the perfect pout without having to pout! I quickly learned that this lip gloss actually has chili pepper! I’m impressed that there aren’t chemicals and actual peppers giving this effect. If you’re looking for a gloss that leaves you feeling confident, beautiful, and fresh, you won’t be disappointed.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received the Maybelline Lifter Plump in shade 002 Mauve. It is a really nice, sheer shade that provide moisture and shine with subtle hints of shimmer. I didn't notice any plumping effects though the packaging lists a trademarked Maxi-Lip.
What I found most interesting was the inclusion of Chili Pepper Pigment Chili. I'm not sure if this is what is supposed to activate the plumping action, if it was the flavor, or just a gimmick. In either case, it was a no for me. It burned. It wasn't this degree bad where I needed to immediately wipe it off but I also wasn't liberal with the application.

This is such a Great gloss that stays on but be prepared from the moment you apply it ( very easily with the big wand) it will start stinging your lips but not unbearably , one hour later it was still stinging but in a good way~ You know it’s still on your lips. Better warn your partner before kissing though in case they’re allergic to chillies! 3 shades~ I bought the Peach one, (( neutral shade is colourless and red is quite bright ) I got it at great valve at half price around $12. Love the packaging. Nice and thick but not gooey It shimmers~ not sparkly but shimmering ❤️

I'll say it again, wow! It definitely has some spice in it. But it is plumping my lips for sure, so it's doing the job! The spice for me does taper down after a few minutes which I definitely appreciate though. The sensations of this plumper are fun.

The color is great, it matches what I would expect from the bottle. I'll definitely enjoy this, thank you Influenster for the products for review!

They sent me shades Blush Blaze and Hot Honey (I am wearing Hot Honey in the picture). These are beautiful shades, and they feel really tingly on your lips! The tingle fades after about an hour, but I can definitely see a difference in plumpness. Be careful not to get the gloss in your mouth, because it is spicy! I was trying to find these online to see if other shades were available, but I guess these are so new that they’re not out yet. I will definitely be purchasing these again!

After just a few minutes of having it on, it did make my lips look more full. I received the shade 002 Mauve Bite and it is a stunning neutral pink. This lipgloss is not sticky on the lips and is super glossy and perfect with any makeup look. As for the spiciness, I did not find it to burn as bad as some others have claimed. I had more of a tingling sensation but you can definitely taste the pepper. I will definitely be using this lip plumper in my daily routine as it looks so pretty on and gives me more full looking lips! I recommend giving this a try and the price is very affordable!

When applied on the lips, it gives you the most beautiful gloss look and then the plumping kicks in. It gives you a nice little tingling sensation on the lips due to the chili pepper in the gloss. This gloss kept my lips moisturized throughout the night and I received many compliments on it! But in all, this pumping gloss took me by surprise!! I definitely would pick this product up again, to me I feel like it works much better than the high end plumping glosses! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The high shine and non-sticky formula is great, and it definitely plumped my lips! But the plumping effect came at a price – way too spicy!!! It felt more like I was putting chili peppers on my lips than lip gloss. It even got in my mouth and my tongue was burning– not a pleasant experience. My lips ended up looking fuller, but they were also bright red and irritated underneath all that gloss. The burning sensation lasted for a very long time and it was very hard to tolerate. I wouldn't recommend this to anyone with sensitive skin or who dislikes a strong stinging sensation.

When you first apply this lip plump gloss, it feels very spicy on the lips! This effect lasts about 20 minutes. Do not lick your lips for the first few minutes or you will feel it! I have used Buxom products previously and wondered if this Maybelline product could compete. It definitely plumps your lips(just the right amount) and adds a nice glossy sheen. I will say that one swipe of the lips is enough, as it does tingle. If you add too much the tingle does turn more into a burning sensation(my lips weren’t burned, but just felt like it until I wiped it off). Overall I really like this product and I would definitely purchase. It’s a thumbs up rating for me!

The major drawback is the painful effect of the active chili agent. I felt no stinging or tingling for 5 minutes or so. Then I felt a slow creeping hot and burning pain on my lips. It was too painful and I had to remove it and my lips still burned after removal for another 5 to 7 minutes. I am use to the effects of lip plumping effects but this was painful. Not again.

The color was pretty and it went on like silk. But the pain will have me not buying it.

Instead, after you apply it, it eases into that feeling that I like that tells you its working. It doesnt hurt me at all. There is one lip plumper that I would never try again by another brand because it hurt so much when i put it on and i actually like the stinging feeling but this one was too intense.
