    Nice and creamy matte lipliner.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have Cross the Line, which is a very dark chocolate brown colour. It has a reddish maroon undertone and borders on a vampy dark brown. It's nice and creamy and applies smoothly. I've worn it just like a lipstick, so it's creamy matte, but as well as lining lips, I've used it under a too bright orange lipstick to tone it down.
It's definitely a pencil that you can't twist up, so you would need to sharpen it. However, the body of the pencil appears plastic and not wood, so i hope it can be sharpened easily - not needed to do yet, but its best to use with a very sharp or nearly new sharpener. 4* is because it mighy be hard to sharpen

    Very disappointed.

I've never had a problem with any Maybelline products before. In fact I love every product I have. Unfortunately I recently bought the new lifter liner. From the first use touching my lips the tip broke. I sharpened it and the same thing keeps happening. I thought it might be a fault but then I heard a well known Australian influencer had the same problem. It's a shame because the actual product works, colours are great and it lasts but when you can't get a sharp tip it's hard to line the lips. Be careful when purchasing this product

The only lip pencil your lips need

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've tried lip pencils over the years with very little success, ie, too dry, wrong shade or my application trying to overline my thin lips and not look like a clown, so I wasn't expecting a great deal when I got this but I was pleasantly surprised, this shade is slightly brighter than my natural lip colour so I could see where it was on application but not massively obvious to look ridiculous and its exactly the same shade as my tinted lip balm. Its creamy so goes on smoothly and actually lifts my natural lip line to make my lips look a bit fuller, so if you're struggling with lip pencils or just want to boost your lips a little without resorting to fillers give this a try.

    Don't drop it!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My lips aren't that even so lip liner often accentuates this. Maybe because of the colour (called "on it") which suits me, this didn't emphasis that I don't have a perfect bow lips. The texture of the liner felt quite dry when first put on but that soon passes. I didn't find that the liner lasted that long and has to be reapplied.

Unfortunately, the liner rolled off the worktop and broke the nib of the liner. Despite turning the bottom the middle didn't push up and my makeup pencil sharper didn't work. So I have to resort to a heavy duty writing pencil sharpener to be continue to be able to use it.

    Excellent lip liner

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This lip pencil felt lovely when first applying as it glides rather than tugging as some lip pencils do.
It actually feels quite different to any other lip liner I've tried before (and I've been through a lot of different brands as I use lip liner every day)
It can be used to completely fill in the lips after outlining them, and as it's so soft (thanks to hyaluronic acid) this works well.
The colour I received (I tested this for Maybelline) is Out Of Line which is quite a neutral warmish pinky nude. I thought at first it would be a little too warm for my skin tone, but it actually blends in with my lipsticks in both cooler and warmer shades (all pinkish nude tones) and looks good with them all.

    Effective liner. Easy to use

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I don’t normally use lip liners but decided I’d like to test this 1 to see if the claims were true. My lips are generally quite thin but I was keen to try a shade closer to my own lip colour for a more natural look (line leader) I was quite impressed with how easy it was to use. It glided on easily, with no dragging. The colour was quite natural & once filled in with a similar shade gloss, it looked quite flattering. I’ll continue to use this & may even dare to go darker next time!

    Would buy this 👍

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’ve been playing with this lip liner for a few weeks now and overall quite enjoy it just think I’ll pick up a warmer tone next time. The texture is unlike anything I’ve used before, quite firm but still transfers the colour to give you a nice crisp edge. It’s not so easy to smudge out but I think that’s a positive! Its staying power is better when used in conjunction with one of Maybelline’s long lasting liquid lipsticks. Just need to figure out how to sharpen it now…

    Fine but unremarkable

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received a free sample of Lifter Liner through the Maybs Babes programme. Tbh I'm not really a lippy wearer, but I'm always interested in new make-up products, so I thought I'd give it a try. The marketing tagline is "Say hello to sculpted, fuller-looking lips", but I'm afraid it didn't live up to that hype for me - though that's maybe more down to my application than the product itself.

It's hard to choose colours online but I opted for shade 07, Big Lift, which I'd describe as a terracotta nude - fractionally darker than I would normally select for my light Caucasian colouring.

It definitely goes on smoothly and doesn't feel drying, but I didn't find it particularly moisturising or long-lasting. It sharpens well though. Not sure what else to say. It's fine but unremarkable, but that's pretty much what I expected.
