The Maybelline Crop Top lipstick is such an easy everyday lip option. The texture feels smooth and lightweight on the lips, not drying like some matte lipsticks can be. It gives a soft matte finish that looks natural but still put-together, perfect for work or casual days out. The colour payoff is nice and buildable—you can go for a light blurred look or layer it for a more defined lip. It stays on pretty well for a few hours, but you might need a touch-up after eating. Overall, it’s a comfortable, affordable lipstick that’s great for daily wear and gives a fresh, effortless look.

Comfortable and reasonable staying power

This lipstick felt really nice to apply, and unlike other matte lip colours that I've used in the past, it didn't feel drying at all; my lips actually felt really hydrated. I've found bullet lipsticks tend not to have the best staying power, but this one wasn't too bad on that front; I still had colour after having a big can of drink (though a lot of colour did transfer to the can). Longevity could probably be improved by patting some setting powder over the lipstick, but I find this dulls the colour and feels drying; I prefer to simply reapply as necessary. 002 is a nice colour, best suited to neutral skin tones but worked okay with my very cool skin tone.

This colour is a little darker than I'd normally choose, but once I have a face full of make up on, with my hair hair and eye's it looked absolutely beautiful. What I love most is how moisturising and smooth it feels on my lips, it really does feel more like a serum than a lipstick. As you can see from my video all you need is one application to have full coverage. I didn't even need to apply it to both lips to get the colour showing off perfectly. It feels lightweight, hydrating and comfortable to wear while giving a fabulous rich colour. My lips stayed looking soft , fresh and pretty without looking or feeling dry. I'll definitely keep using it.

I don’t like it, I love it!

I have been using the Maybelline Serum Lipstick Matte for the past two weeks and I love it. My biggest issue with most lipsticks is that they leave my lips dry, chapped and dehydrated after a few hours, but this one is completely different. It lives up to its serum name because it feels smooth and hydrating on the lips. The texture is soft and velvety and the earthy colour is rich and elegant, perfect for everyday wear while still making a statement. The shade suits my skin tone and I can see myself continuing to use it long term.

I tried shade 002 and I would describe it as rusty-rose colour. Nice satin feel packaging, but not easy to pop lid off with one hand as some other brands are. Lipstick is creamy and lightly fragrant, and it glides on easily with accuracy, and is comfortable on the lips for several hours. Doesn’t feel drying at all, and didn’t bleed (I didn’t use lip liner!). Can taste/breath in one of the ingredients, which I’ve found to be common with hydrating lipsticks. It’s not my most favourite lipstick, but it’s really good for the price point and closely tails some designer brands. A great option for those on a budget. I would buy again.

Great longer wear lipstick

The colour was perfect for me and the matte finish looked really good. The colour stayed for a number of hours and it started to fade around the 4 hour mark with normal wear, such as drinking, eating and talking. I was a little dehydrated when I first tried the lipstick but as you can see from the photo it doesn't look like it. The lipstick didn't bleed like some lipsticks I have used in the past. I recommend trying it for yourself. I'll be trying a few more shades to replace some of the lipsticks that don't measure up.

I’ve been trialling the Maybelline serum lipstick Matte and I’m genuinely impressed. The formula feels super lightweight on the lips, it honestly doesn’t feel like you’re wearing lipstick at all! Unlike a lot of Matte lip products, this one didn’t dry my lips out and actually kept them feeling hydrated throughout the day! Overall I’d definitely recommend this lipstick if you want a Matte look with a more moisturising, comfortable feel, It’s become an everyday must have for me!!

Pleasantly surprised

I’m not always a fan of matte formulas as they can be so drying but this one was impressively hydrating. Glides on easily and stays on comfortably throughout the day with no cracked or dry feeling. Doesn’t feather and easy to take off with your standard make up remover. While this specific shade wasn’t my favourite, the formula is so good that I’d pick up a different shade. Even the packaging deserves a shout out - sturdy and very satisfying to click the lid back into place.

Lovely moisturizing lipstick

I wanted to make sure that I gave this test a few goes over a few days to be able to review appropriately. On first application, I found the lipstick sat really well on my lips and was not drying at all. It did feel a little slippery so I did blot it on a tissue. I removed it after a few hours and was surprised to find it removed well with no staining around my mouth using micellar water on a cotton pad. The next day I was working from home and decided to try a wear test. I put on the lipstick and blotted the extra as my previous wear. I checked after 2 hours and the lipstick still looked the same even after drinking and eating. At hour 4, I did find I had to reapply as it had started coming off at the corners or my mouth. I would recommend this lipstick as I found that it didn’t dry my lips out like other matte lipsticks

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Okay, so I tried Maybelline's new serum lipstick in shade 002, and I have to say, I'm pretty impressed. What's cool about this lipstick is that it's like a lipstick and lip balm had a baby – you get the colour you want, but it also keeps your lips super soft. I hate when my lipstick makes my lips feel dry, but this one is seriously moisturising. It stopped my lips from feeling chapped, which is a big win for me. Plus, the shade 002 is just perfect. It's one of those colours that you can wear with anything, whether you're just chilling or going out-out. It goes on really smoothly, and I love the smooth finish.

I really enjoyed trying the Maybelline Serum Lipstick. The formula felt lightweight and comfortable on my lips throughout the day. Lovely lipstick

This is a lovely lipstick. It has cute packaging that holds the lid on beautifully and would be great in a handbag. I like the smell, it smells like protein powder and the colour is really nice. It’s a nice neutral shade, but with a pop of colour to it that elevates your look. It wears well and glides on nicely as well as feeling hydrating on my lips. It has really good coverage and good pigment. I would buy this lipstick again.

Not so special

It was disappointing to see that the lipstick wasn’t as advertised. In few minutes after applying, it started to feel like dry on lips and didn’t feel like creamy. Also it was transferable so it didn’t last long as I was expecting during the day and needed to be touched up after every now and then. The colour was nice and suited my skin well but I was disappointed that it didn’t perform or stay well during the period of time.

The lipstick shade (002 Maybe It’s) was perfect for my skin tone being fair brunette. It gave me a soft and velvety finish and kept lips moist and non drying. The colour however needs to be reapplied after eating and drinking. I tried applying gloss over the top and this helped with long day wear and avoid it getting too dry. It comes in a nice grey colour package.

Long lasting

I was excited to try Maybelline Serum Lipstick in Matte. The colour is a beautiful shade and long lasting. I'm not often a fan of matte lipstick because it feels dry on my lips but it actually didn't irritate me at all. I'm not sure if the colour suits my skin tone but I will definitely keep using it and buy it again in different colours.

I have been using this Maybelline Matt Lipstick colour No 02 for the past two weeks and it's my new favourite lipstick. I love the colour as it goes goes with everything making it a great everyday colour. The Matt moisturizing finish does not dry out my lips even after wearing all day, thou you do have to reapply through out the day.

Smooth and pigmented

Application is a breeze! This simply glides on and doesn’t bleed. I love that the formula is vegan and that it seems to stay on really well, with a hint of creaminess, that means that you can rub your lips together to get some colour on them when it wears off a bit. This does have a matte finish and it’s an easy formula to love.

Matte look lipstick

I really liked this lipstick. It’s easy to apply and left my lips feeling soft. The colour was a nice shade and it didn’t bleed or smudge. I like the matte look. The only slightly annoying quality was the fact that the cap has to be lined up properly to close. I’m going to buy this in another shade I like it so much.

Hydrating lipstick

I used Maybelline lipstick it’s hydrating the lips so I use it daily as my lips are cracking in this winter season. But it’s not a long lasting lipstick so I use it as a tint lip balm as this makes my lips hydrating for long hours. I love the shade of it. And I carry it with me everywhere In my little pouch bag.

Light, soft, hydrating lipstick......

How refreshing that I wore a lipstick all day and didn't even realise it was on and remained flawless all day! It was so hydrating, light with the perfect colour. It is not something I would have chosen but I adore it and have worn it a lot since! The coverage was even and subtle, my lips felt soft all day.

Okay why is the Maybelline Serum Matter lipstick actually so good?? Feels super lightweight, doesn’t dry my lips out, and gives that soft blurred matte look without looking crusty by the end of the day. The colour payoff is sooo nice too. Definitely one of the better affordable lip products I’ve tried lately.

This lipstick was so nice, it had a really lovely scent and colour, was smooth to apply and made my dry lips feel really norished. Only downside i had was that it came off on everything my lips touched and needed lots of reapplying to keep the shade even but aside from that i really enjoyed this lipstick.

Love the packaging of this. It's heavy coverage and nice and thick. Easy to apply and just glides on the lips. I do find it can be drying on the lips so I do need to to apply a gloss or balm over it. However I do that with all my lipsticks so it's no biggie for me. Overall I do like this lipstick.

I'm really happy with this lipstick. It has a lovely matte finish and stays on - I wore it on a night out for dinner with a girlfriend and it remained in place the whole time. I love the colour, it's neutral and my daughter told me it really suits me. Very happy with it - I'd definitely buy it!

I would give 110/100 for this lipstick. It is the best lipstick I have tried so far. In the beginning it feels like it has lot of moisture but soon it becomes matte. And the best thing is it lasts for while day. I could not believe my eyes it feels so light too. I would definitely buy this.
