The texture makes it super easy to apply, and you only need a small amount to cover your whole face, which makes the product last a long time. I like to let it sit for a minute after applying so it gets that tacky finish, and that’s when it really shines. My foundation and other makeup go on smoothly over the top and stay put all day. Even after hours of wear, my makeup still looks fresh and well set, without sliding or fading. It feels lightweight on the skin, but it gives that long lasting hold you want from a primer. Definitely a winner when it comes to primers!

It has a pleasant fragrance an is easy to apply, a few drops which felt a little sticky initially but soon absorbed into my skin leaving it feeling hydrated and smooth. I currently use a fairly expensive primer every day so was a little sceptical that this one would work as well, however I was pleasantly surprised as this one is fantastic! My skin felt hydrated all day and my make up applied easily and stayed put all day. I found the dropper applicator easy to use and would recommend this product for anyone looking for a great primer.

Beautifully Glowy and Makeup Stays Put

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Wow! I did not think I would love this as much as I do. I am surprised by how naturally glowy this makes my makeup look. It gives my makeup such a beautifully radiant finish while staying put all day! Despite its staying power, it is so lightweight that it feels like nothing at all. I’m someone who prefers having a natural makeup look and this primer is perfect for that! I also am surprised by the bottle! Not only is the pink color beautiful, but the bottle is glass! Not only does the product feel like a higher end beauty product, but it also looks like one. And it is so affordable! This has instantly become a staple in my makeup routine.

Gripped for good

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Having tried afew of the grippy primers on the market, I was very keen to see how this one weighed up. It’s safe to say I was pleased!
This primer made my base last longer, without my pores being clogged or turning into an oil slick.
Application was easy and mess free, applying foundation on top was a breeze.
My biggest concern was having this product break me out, which is what I have experienced with other “grippy” primers in the drugstore. I am SO glad to report that I did not have this experience with Maybelline. This formula has become my top choice compared to others on the market and will definitely continue to use on a day to day basis.

Nice primer, good for dinners out

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Tried this serum the other night as I had an important birthday dinner to go to and needed something that kept my foundation on for a number of hours in a warm setting. The liquid felt nice and cooling when applying to the face and did provide some grip to the foundation; thankfully it didn’t smell too strong when coming out of the bottle as some primers do have a fragrance attached to them. However, and this may have been the foundation itself, I did notice some patchy foundation around and on my nose at the end of the night. On the whole, a good makeup serum/primer for nights out and would use a lot in winter for during the day as well.

I find it lightweight & absorbs quickly into my skin which is good as my skin is now prepared for my makeup!
I've used it a few times now & each time I've used it I have found my makeup stays in place all day, no need for touch ups at all.. The product is non sticky & leaves no residue at all ..I noticed my skin looks hydrated & plumper after use too...which I love!

The serum feels silky smooth, and does not leave a sticky feeling on your face once applied. I was a bit worried initially when I applied it, as it did have that sticky feeling, but once it set (20-30 seconds) that feeling went away. Once my foundation was applied over the top, it did not move until i washed it off that evening. This is great, as my usual primer does not make my makeup last a whole day. It has a very subtle and pleasant smell, and you do not need to use a lot of product. I will definitely be buying this again!

Your Makeup is Here to Stay!

I found the Maybelline New York Grippy Serum Primer great and easy to use. The GRIPPY serum is just that GRIPPY. When applying with my fingers on my face, I could feel the grip as the serum primer was drying. It spread quite well.
The product felt nice on my face and didn't feel heavy which was great. My makeup sat nicely over the top and yes did last all day. My foundation glued to my face, but still felt nice and smooth.
The bottle is the cutest shade of pink and I really like the applicator dropper to apply the serum primer onto my face.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My skin is never the most hydrated, so I wasn’t sure I would like this 'grippy' primer. I usually use a more moisturiser type primer as my more mature skin needs a little more help.
This is a super interesting product. Applies easily and feels a bit like glue lol.. but never fear it gets better. I wear a SPF BB cream and this works brilliantly under it. My skin looked hydrated and refreshed and I didnt look patchy throughout the day.
I was not sure I needed another skin product to add to my routine - but alas I think it may become a staple. Would absolutely recommend giving this product a try.. super clever and does the job that you need it to do

Cons: sticky on hands and my face felt a little dry.
Pros: made foundation smoother on face and felt it lasted longer throughout the day.
I liked the fact that it was a clear consistency
I would definitely purchase this product and suggest it to friends and family. It would be good as a suggestion if it had a spv factor built in as added protection against sun exposure.

I have dry skin and with some primers they can make my skin even drier or cause foundation to cling to patches, but I haven’t had that issue at all with this one! It also truly lives up to its name, it grips without leaving a white cast and doesn’t pill under makeup. I love that it gives hold without being overly sticky like others I’ve tried. The bottle and dropper with the glass is very appealing. It was wasy to apply and felt soothing. It rubbed into my skin very easily and left a dewy coating on my skin making it look super smooth. It sort of glued to my skin but not in a tacky way. It made a beautiful base for my foundation and blush/bronzer. It make my makeup last all day without dry creases and wrinkles being apparent. Also there was no visible pores. When i washed my face it washed of really easily my makeup slid off and it went slimy upon water and cleanser on it. Really love this product

Given it includes niacinamide, i am sure with slightly longer use the visible lines will also decrease which is great for a primer. Give it a minute before applying your make-up and I found my make-up stayed longer, looked better and when wearing the grippy primer, make up gives a naturally dewy finish. Skin still feels hydrated and not dry towards end of the day and make up doesnt separate. Has an easy to use applicator to dispense product, and not much product is required for a beautiful finish. This is easily a new favourite primer and I will purchase again.

I think it feels nice on the skin. I think it’s something i would recommend. It’s smooth on the skin, but not sticky. It is sticky, but only enough for the makeup to be on. I use it multiple times a week, it’s good for its price as well. It’s very cute packaging, something that looks cute when i accidentally leave it out. It’s not ugly at all. It’s something i love to use. I would completely recommend it for anyone who wants a primer that is sticky, not too sticky, cute packaging.

Hydrating primer

I liked the serum texture and the dropper makes application easy to control. It dries quickly after application and it does feel quite "grippy" but not sticky - hard to explain without experiencing for yourself - but in my experience of using other primers occasionally, their texture feels very different, more like creating a smooth surface that the makeup sits on top of. I like this difference with the Maybelline Grippy Primer and found that makeup lasted well all day, even through a sweaty gym class. Highly recommend!

It's housed a stylish pink bottle with a dropper style applicator, just like skincare serums. I use about 3 drops and pat into my skin. I wait about 20 seconds for the gripping texture to my skin before applying my foundation. My base makeup applies flawlessly because of the primer creating the perfect dewy canvas. My skin feels so refreshed, and because of it containing niamicide, it keeps my skin, feeling so hydrated.
