This gel eyeliner delivers a really pigmented black line. I would disagree with it being 'lasting'.\n My skin is fairly normal - not oily and even using a eye primer I find it still wears off.\nThe only way I have got it to last so more than 4 hours is to then go over it with a black eyeshadow to 'set it'. The brush that comes with it is horrible - it is very hard and hurts my eye while trying to apply the product.\nIn saying that, I have purchased this product 3 times now as I do like how pigmented it is, it is just a bit annoying that it doesnt last on me. I would also recommend using a different brush to the one that comes with this.\n\n

Smudges and certainly doesn't last 24 hours

Always spending money trying to find a waterproof or lasting liquid eyeliner that doesnt crack off, smudge or wipe right off. Well this isnt any better. I put it on and literally within 5 minutes I have an eyeliner mark above my eye on my eyelid. It does this throughout the day and I have to keep wiping it off. Not to mention it doesnt work for the cat eye look either. The wings slowly dissapear as you blink or do anything throught the day and if you wipe your eye it smudges across your face. If you blink it goes from the inner top lid and transfers to the lower inner lid. I about gave up on any waterproof lasting eyeliner at this point.
No, I do not recommend this product.

This eyeliner does what it says, i went to the bar so many times with my best friend and to get there we walk and boy is it hot! So I'm thinking oh good my eyeliner but when i go look at myself in the mirror its still put! I went from being at the bar since nine at night until four in the morning and the eyeliner was put! Amazing! But i would suggest only the water line, i have dry skin idk if its cause of that but it does lady and doesn't smudge, it only smudges a tiny boot like when i make the wing at the end of the water line but it doesn't bother me cause i look nice haha , great product tho recommended it to allot of my friends.

Came out of the package completely dry, hard as a rock, and in the shape of like a perfect cylinder pellet. It doesn’t look like it was ever usable. I’ve never seen a dried up gel liner look like that. Like the pot wasn’t even touched, they just plopped a black plastic disc in there and called it eyeliner. You won’t get a full refund back for it. It’s a waste of money and honestly, I feel scammed. I even tried rehydrating it and that was pointless. Threw it away and took the L. Maybelline is falling off for sure. I used to use this product back in the day and it was fine, obviously they don’t care anymore. Sincerely, a hurt eyeliner girly. RIP maybelline.

The past 3 years this is THE ONLY liner I use by choice, one unit lasts all year and nothing compares when we're talking about applying to the waterline, easy, smooth, and opaque color with just one stroke Everytime. Without priming yes it can be very easy to smudge, but also very easy to wipe away to maintain. I would note that when applied to upper lid with or without primer or foundation adding just a little black eyeshadow after the liner seems to give it some real boost in longevity. I can never get the original brush to last any longger than a month without snapping it, but the fault may be completely mine there.

Yes, I loathe this new formula that replaces the old Maybelline New York Eyestudio. Maybelline has cheapened it. They think that by packing it exactly the same as the previous they can pull the wool over our eyes. This new formula feels cheap and watery. It runs and smudges. Just in applying it, it starts feathering. I wish I had the old formula back. I have greasy eyelids and this used to be the only eye liner that did not run or smudge.I used it faithfully for 5++ years it was the only eye liner I used. Now I am searching again for a new eye liner. I have tried almost all of Maybelline’s and they are just as bad or even worse. If I could give it negative stars I would.

I have been using gel eyeliner for almost 30 years - every brand, every price - and never found one that actually stays on as advertised - until this one. This goes on and stays on easily - for about half the pot - by then it dries out and doesn't go on well at all - much better performance than more expensive brands. However, the applicator is absolutely junk - I use my own brushes - I'm sure everybody using the product has a unique method. I suggest - discontinue the applicator and invest in another couple of shades instead. I would love something darker than brown and lighter than black - like expresso.

Maybelline's Best Eyeliner

As a lifelong pencil user and not a fan of liquid eyeliner for obvious reasons, I decided to try the gel formula in a pot since I only wear eyeliner on my upper lash area and most people know that lining the inner rim requires many touchups and besides some can't since the sensitivity makes the eyes water. Well, I am glad I did try this because it's fantastic! It looks natural and smooth, easy to apply,waterproof and wears indefinitely. I do mix it with the Earthly Taupe eye shadow to make the brown,which I use,more brown since it has a tendency to wear more brownish/black,which I don't wear black so that is the only reason I gave it 4 stars. Other than that it's been a satisfying purchase.
