EYESTUDIO® LASTING DRAMA® GEL LINER

Love this job. I never mastered liquid, and pencils have always been so hard. Now That I'm older, it's that much more important to find something that is soft and smooth to use to line my eyes. I've been using this particular gel for a couple of years now.

The only problem that I'm having at this point is that Maybelline has recently changed the brush that comes with it. It used to be a brush that was flat and thin and relatively hard, but you could get a really nice fine line from it, and then be able to fill in to make the perfect cat eye. The brushes that are coming with the product now are much thicker and softer, and they just don't make that nice sharp line.

Maybelline, please bring back the old style brush?!

I have used Maybelline gel pots for over 15 years. I would have given them 5 stars early on, but in the last few years, they changed the formula to the "Tattoo" version. It is ok when it is brand new, but very quickly dries out and clump will fall in your eye and ball up on your brush. With the old formula, it lasted until I had almost used the entire pot, which was phenomenal value. Now, the value is lost when it's still 2/3 full and I have to toss it. Yes, you can microwave it or add some water, but it will just dry out again. I miss the old formula!

This new formula is garbage. It’s no longer smooth or easy to apply, and by the afternoon my eyes feel irritated enough that I have to wash my face early.

I genuinely can’t believe Maybelline changed the formula, assumed customers wouldn’t notice, and then ignored the feedback. That’s a great way to destroy brand trust.

I’ve been using the original gel eyeliner since 2008/2009. I loved it so much that I always kept backups — one at the office, one in my travel bag, one in my gym bag. It was reliable, creamy, and never caused irritation.

Now I’m forced to find a different gel eyeliner entirely, and I won’t be returning to Maybelline. If the quality dropped this much on a hero product, I have to assume it’s happening across the line.

I have been using this product since 2013 since my college days & its been almost 6 years & will be continued forever. Its perfect for every occasion, I have used it every where, my college, my office, parties ,casual hanging out with friends, also on my wedding day. I love its long lasting property and its very smooth & easy to apply, no side effects, no itching. It made my eyes look so beautiful that almost every friend, colleague, relatives of mine has asked me about this lovely product .I am incomplete with out you & you are always with me.

I bought it accidently, and thought maybe this was a waste of money. Never opened it until 2 months later.. Now I can't switch to any liner, I've tried so many eyeliner that claims to be smudgeproof and waterproof, but this one never fails me !! Love it :*
Keep in mind that my eyes are very oily and the weather is 92° here everyday .. I work under the direct sun, wash my face every 3 hours, yet my eyeliner still stay just like I apply it in the morning ...
Then you know how good it is if it's still stay put for 10 hours on my eyes. .

I usually really like this product. It's my go-to eyeliner for the most part. I purchase one about a week ago and there is something wrong with the brush. Everytime I try to apply I feel like it is scratching my eyelid. I've tried to clean it on a wipe crushing pretty hard in hopes of breaking it in with no success. I've used this product before so I know that's not how the brush is supposed to be. Unfortunately though I don't have another to use so my money is either wasted or I must continue to mutilate myself in the name of beauty.

I'm not sure what is so different about my eyelids from everyone elses, but I have never...in all of my 45+ yrs of wearing makeup...have ever found any gel or pencil eyeliner that didn't smudge on my eyelids or come off on my upper brow bone 1/2 an hr after applying. And this product is no different!! How can mfgs continue to advertise this feature on their products, and have it be so false?! I bought this product feeling very skeptical, but still hopefull, as I love a good cat eye! First, I wasn't pleased with how it went on...it wasn't a "smooth gliding motion". ..but when it did exactly what every other product of its kind does, I was really ticked that I had once again been duped. I still have the pkg, but no receipt...so, oh well...it is what it is.

PLEASE bring back the espresso color — I am a 41 year old woman, been wearing eyeliner for over 20 years, and this is the first and only eyeliner I have ever found that actually stays on for 24 hours, through sweat and rain and heat and tears and everything. This product was literally life changing for me, as I could do my makeup once in the morning and be done with it, and not have to touch it up in the bathroom every 4 hours throughout the day, like I did with other products that wore off by sweat or blinking. I will keep buying this product for the rest of my life if you bring back the espresso color. I can’t do the black — it’s just too dark. And the “brown” is too light. From the comments here, it looks like a lot of people were a fan of the espresso.

I was really nervous about using this at first: Was I going to mess up badly? Was it going to smear? and much more. But when I tried it, it wasn't what I thought it would
be! It really works! Blackest Black gave me a classic, yet flattering look! I actually love it! Even though the lines I made were asymmetrical, the liner was amazing. The brush actually needed cleaning to keep it in good shape. Yet it was very helpful in applying the gel liner. Maybelline, you did great. Keep up the progress, and see what you can improve on!

What happen to the Expresso color? I've been scraping the last from the container and driving everywhere looking for it. Black is to dark and brown is to pale which makes me look like I'm sick. I guess it is just my skin/hair color. I gave this product 5 stars for EXPRESSO but will not be buying it going forward until Expresso returns. It truly was the best eyeliner I've used. I just don't understand why it was removed since it was usually sold out when I needed it. And when I did find it, I would stock up.

This eyeliner gets 5 stars from me, for its price, it’s lasting power and that it comes with a brush. The little pot of gel eyeliner lasts for ages, so it’s definitely great value for money. You can get a really thin and precise line and colour between the lashes with the small brush that comes with this eyeliner, but you can also quite easily draw in a thicker feline flick. Just make sure you wash the little brush between each use as the product dries on the brush and then it doesn’t work so well.

I bought the dark purple shade and the first time I opened it the product was hard. It was completely solid, not a gel. The instructions said to dip the brush, but you definitely could not dip. I had to really push the brush to get any product and then the application was not smooth. I thought I got a bad one so I bought another - still the same! Is it supposed to be like that? The picture looks completely different. I really like the shade and brush, wish it was actually gel so I could use it!

This gel eyeliner is incredibly smooth when applied, and it stays put on my upper eyelids. I tend to wear eyeliner only on my upper eyelids, because I have watery eyes and eyeliner on the lower lash line does not tend to stay on. So, I can't vouch for the capability of this eyeliner in that arena. But for my purposes, it works great! I bought the eyeliner in blackest black, and the pigment is really nice. It's dark and deep in color. Much better than some pencil eyeliners that I have tried.

Used this for a Skull Face on Halloween a couple years ago. Used this all over my face and neck. Smooth application. Was thick so where I had it there was no skin color showing through. Did not irritate my eyes, face or neck. Stayed on ALL night. Of course there was a bit of fade on my lip area after drinking and eating all night but not much. Used it on my husbands face as well. He is usually irritated by any face makeup we have used on Halloween.......not this!

This amazing gel eyeliner and brush saved my winged eye life. I love winged eyeliner, but I have always struggled with smudging - my ultimate makeup pet peeve. This product doesn't smudge under my eyes! Once it sets it stays in place. This is the absolute best eyeliner I have ever used. My daughters introduced it to me when they were teens, and 15 years later I have still never found anything comparable. That said, a huge change occurred in the brush which is not a good one… It’s too flimsy and constantly breaks. Not to mention that two of my favorite shades, espresso and charcoal, are no longer available. Please bring back the “in between“ shades, because nothing comparable exists!

I recently bought the gel eyeliner after a very good experience previously, however, this time even though the product has been modified to make it better, for me, it has become worse. The product does not stay even for 8 hours and keeps smudging, even though I have a normal skin and weather is pleasant. The eyeliner brush hurts my eyelids and during re-applying to darken the eyeliner it gets wiped away with its own product and brush.

Now THIS is an eyeliner. The brush it comes with is awesome too. I have used this eyeliner to make dramatic cat eyes practically every day for the past year and it is still not gone yet! It lasts forever and doesn't dry out! I constantly get compliments on how awesome my eyeliner looks. You can also use this as a great liner for your waterline, it stays on for hours! Thanks, Maybelline, this will be a product I come back to forever.

I have used the gel pot eyeliner for 12 years now and loved it never had an issue. It was perfect and creamy ro apply and would last all day even in water. But this new formula is way to dry to where I cant even apply it and hurts to apply it then flakes off so easily so I have to reapply multiple times a day. Please bring back the old formula. It never dried out and was creamy and would last till the last bit of the jar.

I purchased this yesterday and immediately it started to smudge off... I don't like it and it does not have a fine point like I thought it would have to give that we'll defined look to my eyes. I will be taking this back, it should have been more of a tattoo type look and it suppose to be 24 hour and it did not last for 10 minutes. I hugged my husband and some of the liner got on his face and collar . Not a good product

Just opened and in total love of this gel liner! Thought I'd give it s try and I'm ready to toss out the pencil liners I've been using all these years. The brush helps to control the amount and doesn't tug at the delicate skin over the eye. I'm using charcoal and love that it has a bit of shimmer to it. Big test will be whether it is "24 hr." lasting. Would be happy for at least 12 hours as i have oily skin.

I bought this again after not buying it for years because I couldn't remember why and then I remembered. It's for sure not smudge or waterproof and doesn't last long at all. It lasted good for maybe 3 hours and then I look in the mirror and I look like a raccoon. Its smudged and easily comes off if I barely touch it with my finger. I wanted something that last and I have yet to find anything that actually sticks..

I’ve been using this product for years. I’ve always been one to try new product, but the Maybelline eyeliner is one formula I have stuck with and look forward to using. They last a while, they are creamy and dark, they stay on my face throughout dance performances, hot work days, late nights, and I couldn’t ask for a better product to wing my eyes with every morning. Highly recommend. Great for the price.

Love the eyeliner, hated the brush that came with it (what were they thinking?) so I substituted a small, fine point paintbrush that works perfectly. I am halfway through my second container of the liner. Same brush, but wash it with soap every time (or it turns into brown cement) so no waste, and no bacterial buildup either. I will definitely order this again, and buy a new paintbrush as needed.

I wanted to love this product - really! The product goes on very easily and I like the texture of the gel. That's where the love affair ends. It runs like crazy. I've tried wearing it three days now. I tried wearing it with and without powder, with and without moisturizer. Nothing helps. I get rings on my upper lid within hours and by 4 hours in I'm wiping it off because it's running into my eyes.

I’ve been using this product for a while. Loved it so very much. It was great even in the summer. I have mono lids so finding a liner that stays on is extremely difficult but this did the job. i recently bought 2pots thinking one was just from a bad batch. It smudges so easily now, doesn’t even last 4hrs. Did you change the formula? Thought I found THE liner for me, now back on the hunt :(

I have been using this eyeliner for years, I absolutely love it, nothing compares. Its the only eyeliner I’ve used thats actually waterproof as well (I have tried many). So smooth, so easy to use, never rubs off. Most importantly its affordable as well- which keeps me coming back just as much as the rest! I use it every day. If this product ever disappears

I bought the brown one on accident since I meant to choose black, but I decided to give something new a try. It SUCKS! This is not gel, it is very stiff and the brush is painful on the skin, it looks pigmented on my hand but on my face it barely shows up (even tho I use primer) and looks very cheap. I'm gonna have to try it with a different brush. I'm really disappointed.

The product glides on easily and the applicator is nice. What I have been unhappy with is the tube provided to protect the applicator doesn't do the job. The bristles start getting bent the it's hard to apply the liner correctly. I still have at least half of the liner left and it is starting to dry out. I feel it should last longer or be given a tip on how to revive it.

This is a superb quality gel eyeliner that comes with a fantastic little brush for application.\n.\n\nI have very oily eyelids, so like using gel eyeliners.  They tend to go on better and definitely last better than pencil counterparts.\n\nThis eyeliner comes in a stylish glass jar, with a brush that is slimline, has a nice tip, and applies the product very smoothly & evenly.  I've found that with regular use, the product doesn't dry out  in the jar and is still as fresh as the day I bought it.\n\nThe gel eyeliner is very easy to apply, and I love that it doesn't smudge during or after application.  Where I put it, it stays all day.. I haven't tested how waterproof it is i.e. by swimming with it on, but I have worn it in really hot weather & it's stayed put. Absolutely perfect in the hot Australian weather.  \n\nHighly recommend these, they deliver everything they promise and are great value for money too.\n\n
