I was on the hunt for a liquid liner that applied more like a pen than a brush in order to get the perfect line and wing. I struggle with doing precise work on my eyes as I'm just too impatient but I found this liner worked really well. Its really affordable and it lasts all day. I didn't have any problem with the colour fading over the course of the day and found it stayed in a neat line and didn't feather. I wore this most days and do my makeup at 4.30 am and don't get home until 6pm and its still perfect! I only wish it lasted longer as I found It ran out fast though maybe I just used it too much. If you need a liquid liner and prefer the 'pen-type' application I recommend this product!

I have been a loyal fan and customer of the old master precise liner. Now the packaging and formula have changed and now it is the WORST liner I have ever tried to use. The tip is DRY, it doesnt come out on your lid but scrapes across your lid irritating it. The old tip was soft and inky and perfect, the new one is dry and useless. I just stocked up and bought 5 and now have to throw them all out and find a new brand. Would like a refund and explanation.

RUINED THE BEST EYELINER EVER

I have used the master precious liquid eyeliner pen for years and years. I wear a cat eye every single day and it has been the best brush tip and formula ever until it changed recently. The top went from almost like a brush to a spongy but scratchy huge cone. It’s terrible and so hard to use and I consider myself an eyeliner expert. And to make it worse, the formula isn’t as black, is patchy and wears off by the afternoon. Worst decision ever and I read Maybellines replies that this was based on customer feedback which I cannot understand as this was the best most universally loved eyeliner on the internet so why would you ruin it?!?!?! Devastated.

New design is THE WORST.

This was my go-to eyeliner that I have been using faithfully for YEARS. When I went to purchase my latest replacement I noticed that the packaging had changed, but little did I know that the actual pen and formula itself has changed too.
The new tip is made of a spongey material and is much thicker and longer than the old pen. This makes it hard to control and makes it impossible to draw the thin lines anymore. The sponge tip is also incredibly long and scrapes on the lid when you take it on and off. I've only used it once and already the sponge tip has frayed.
Why fix something that isn't broken? I am so sad that my favourite eyeliner from all these years is now useless. Please change it back or else I'll be searching for a new brand of eyeliner to use.

This WAS the perfect eyeliner, but you have ruined it. This redesign of the master precise is horrible. It’s not precise, the tip is dry and doesn’t create a sharp line or wing, it’s not easy to use AT ALL. And the formulaaa whhhhyyyyyyy did you change it? It smudges in the corner of your eye over the day or if it gets bumped and is SO hard to remove! This new product is the absolutely worst. Lost a customer. Not interested in using the other eyeliner products otherwise I would have already been using them.
Please put this product in the bin where it belongs and bring back the best eyeliner on the market!

Horrible new design

Loved the previous formula and brush tip, used it every day ever since it was released. Purchased the new version a couple of days ago and can't emphasise enough what a let down it is. New tip is a sponge that doesn't allow for the "precise" application of the previous design and horrible formula.
I purchased the forest brown colour which I do enjoy the appearance of, however, I'm not sure whether its because of the new sponge tip or a different formula but this does not seem to last nearly as long as the blackest black in the previous version.
So disappointed by the loss of what I considered one of my holy grail products :(. Used to always recommend the previous version when asked but definitely wont recommend this one.

Bad decision to change a once great product

I have been a long time user of this eyeliner. It WAS my holy grail eyeliner - it beat ALL the top end brands in my opinion. I would always recommend it. The recent change to packaging and product is horrible. Don’t waste your money, this is nothing like the previous formula, tip or packaging (the lid comes off easily in my makeup bag). Like other loyal fans, I am so disappointed with the new version - I immediately noticed the difference in one application. You will lose a lot of fans - listen to your feedback and bring back the old version.

Why why why...?

Why change the formula and tip design of one of the best long lasting eye liners on the market? I have been using this product since it came on the market many years ago and have recommended it to everyone. I work in a humid environment and this eyeliner was the only one that stayed put all day. It took me years to find one that would perform in the environment I work in. I have been using the new formula for 2 weeks and by noon it has faded and started to run everywhere, including into my eyes. I'm so disappointed with this product. I really don't understand why it has been changed...? Please take note of the recent reviews you have on your page because we are all saying the same thing. Bring back the old formula and flexible tip because this product does not work!

Was my go-to, new formula is awful!!!!

I used the old version of this eyeliner religiously as it wad comparable to the likes of the Stila eyeliner but at 1/3 the cost. Great tip and formula was smudge proof and waterproof but easy to remove.
Now the new packaging and formula is quite possibly one of the worst eyeliners. Similar to the cheap ones you can get that deserve to sit unused in an old makeup bag. Tip is a rough sponge with no ability to get a thin inconspicuous line or cat eye without looking like a drag queen. The formula itself smudges and doesn’t go the distance. So hard to remove even with eye makeup remover. God awful - need to find another eyeliner now.
Moral of the story - don’t fix what isn’t broken. Won’t be Australia’s #1 eyeliner much longer. -_-

I struggle with doing precise work on my eyes as I'm just too impatient but I found this liner worked really well. Its really affordable and it lasts all day. I didn't have any problem with the colour fading over the course of the day and found it stayed in a neat line and didn't feather. I wore this most days and do my makeup at 4.30 am and don't get home until 6pm and its still perfect! I only wish it lasted longer as I found It ran out fast though maybe I just used it too much. If you need a liquid liner and prefer the 'pen-type' application I recommend this product!

Not the right colour

I brought this product 2 days ago and upon opening realised it was not in fact brown as the package stated but instead black. The tip is awarded and does not realise much product the lid does not snap on so it is hard to tell if it is closed or opened. Overall very disappointed.

WHY DID YOU CHANGE IT???

For the past few years I have purchased a master precise liner every couple of months. I raved about them. They were an excellent product and a fantastic price.
Last week I picked up one of the new ones and... ugh. It's changed for the worse.
- The tip is dry.
I can only get liquid out by lying the brush flat and dragging it across the back of my hand but it won't work precisely across my lid. The old one was amazing. You'd just swipe and go and people would ALWAYS comment on how good it looked.
- The formula seems different but that might just be a result of the appallingly poor applicator.
I have no idea why the product was changed but it's atrocious.
I went online to look for similar reviews and that's how I ended up here.
Save your money, folks and buy one of the other (unfortunately more expensive) brands. This WAS an excellent product. It is now useless. I threw it away.

The old tip was better

I’ve been using this eyeliner for years. I love it and think it’s the best one out there. It’s easy to apply, doesn’t crack or bleed and stays all day. However, they recently changed the tip from a fine, short felt tip to a longer, thicker felt tip (though it still has a fine point). NBD right? Wrong. The longer, thicker tip means I make far more mistakes and end up with a thicker eyeline than I generally want or having to apply and reapply many times. Please bring back the old tip. It was much better for finer detail and a more discrete eyeliner for work days.

I’ve been using Maybelline Master Precise eyeliner for many years now and I was incredibly disappointed to find out that Maybelline had changed the original brush-style tip of the eyeliner to a sponge/felt tip one. It’s so hard to achieve a clean, sharp wing with the sponge tip, not to mention you have to press down on the tip a number of times until the ink actually comes out... Genuinely upset with the new design and really hope Maybelline takes this feedback on board and brings back the brush-style tip! Now in the process of having to look for a new liquid eyeliner..

I had found the perfect eyeliner when MAYBELLINE first released the "master precise liquid eye liner". I have used it for years and absolutely loved it. I also constantly got feedback from people on how prefect and delicate it looked.
I recently purchased the newly released version and to my disappointment, its actually bad...
The tip is different and it applies quiet poorly, you don't get the same even flow. Not sure why a good really good product had to change.
Please go back to the old tip and formula!

Terrible eyeliner, do not buy

A few nights ago as I was getting ready to go to a party I realised I had run out of my favourite eyeliner by maybelline, and ya girl cannot go out without her wings. So in desperation I drove to my nearest chemist warehouse and, as I couldn't see my usual liner, I purchased this one instead thinking it would work just as well. How wrong I was. When I got back home and continued to apply my makeup I was bitterly disappointed. This liner is terrible. It only applies liquid if you press down REALLY hard, meaning it is not possible to fine or precise lines as it falsely claims. As a result my wings were less than their usual perfect and I started my night in a very bad mood.

They've changed it and the new version is no good

I've been buying this eyeliner for several years and rely heavily on it for convenience. They've unfortunately changed it recently... the new version pen tip is thicker and less flexible and therefore much harder to use; I end up with a bulky line when I want a fine line for my day job. Very disappointing. Also to note, the eyeliner changes between countries e.g. NZ and Germany. The one in Germany was also useless.

I first noticed the original Master Precise Liner fading out a couple of months ago and decided to stock up on the old formula. But now after running out of the old liners, I was forced to purchase the new one which had me hopeful because a new formula could only get better, right? But boy was I wrong... the pen tip itself had me cringing from the start. It was dry, stiff and very difficult to handle. After multiple tries, I finally got it to work the way I wanted, but couple of hours into the wear, I experienced severe smudging which made my make up look horrible. I was stuck with black rings around my eyelids the whole day as I had assumed that it wouldnt have budged.. a very disappointing outcome. Maybelline, I really hope you fix this soon, because the way I’ve heard other people talk about this liner is doing you no favours.

I have been a dedicated master precise buyer for a number of years and loved the product but this new one is beyond disappointing. It dries out too quickly, smudges too easily but won't budge with a makeup remover. Bring back the old formula, it was great! It stayed put, didn't smudge or run and was a breeze to remove when needed. I'll be on the hunt for a new eyeliner.

I too agree with the recent negative reviews on this product. This was my favourite liquid liner but the new formula doesn’t work for me. The new tip is dryer and not as soft as the old one. Clean precise lines are no longer possible and the new formula gives me the worst panda eyes at the end of the day. Maybelline please listen to your customers and bring back the old formula and liner. Unfortunately you’ve lost a loyal liquid liner customer and based on recent reviews I’m not the only one who will now have to search for another brand.

Dried out in the 1st use

I have been a fans of your black master precise black eyeliner (old package) for almost 2 years. Now this forrest brown came out I am so excited. And it dried out in the 1st use. As it is so dried it make it very difficult to apply and smudge straight away. Don’t give diplomatic response and really fix the product because you aren’t turning loyal customers away!!! This is a complete fail, admit and improve please!!!

Great eyeliner

I bought it because I was looking for an easy to use eyeliner with great intensity and after trying quite a few on my hand in a drugstore for comparison and noticing this eyeliner didn't move when I rubbed over it (also didn't bleed). I used it that same evening and it was soo easy to use the pen - the tip is long and more narrow than most eyeliner pens and so the application was super easy. Also the intensity was great and it lasted all evening. When I went to remove it at home I was afraid I will have to rub my eyes but it removed so quickly and painlessly I knew it was my go to eyeliner. Easy, quick, longlasting and easy to remove.

Absolutely shocking

I've been a long time user of this and many of Maybelline's products and this is by far the worst experience. The eyeliner melted and smudged like nothing I've seen before. Two hours into my day and I looked like I'd been punched in the face twice. It melted and smudged all around my eyes even though I only had it on my top lid. Ironically it was then somehow incredibly difficult to wash off, practically scrubbed my eyes raw.
No, I do not recommend this product.

What on earth???

I have been buying this eyeliner for many years and have always stayed so loyal to it, but now it’s changed to a new terrible design that isn’t soft on the eyes and the tip is much larger and harder to create an accurate wing. I feel like I’m drawing with a sharpie on my eyelid with this new design. Why would you fix something that wasn’t broken in the first place? now this eyeliner is just like any other cheap, bad quality eyeliner that you can find everywhere.

Pigmented with easy application

This eyeliner was very good! The color was even, and never applied patchy or uneven. The eyeliner also lasted all day for me.
The color is also so beautiful. It’s this deep green that isn’t so dark that it just looks black, but isn’t so bright that it looks strange. A perfect deep emerald green!
The tip of the eyeliner is my favorite part, it’s a felt tip that is stiff enough to make great straight lines, but also has enough give to make other designs too.
One draw back would be that it does seem prone to drying up, make sure you shake and hold the eyeliner downwards so the tip doesn’t dry out.

Got my hopes up a bit too high for this one…

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] While I typically love, Maybelline, liquid eyeliner, which is a staple in my maker routine, this certainly fell short. I was excited to try the green color as my hazel eyes were sure to love the complementary shade, unfortunately, it could not perform to many of its competitors. I love the pigment and the specific color, the brush seem to drag forcing you there, go over and over each layer result of mistakes, which we do not love when it comes to liquid liner… additionally, I would’ve loved any more precise, sharp tipped brush as this one is a bit more rounded, causing me to go in with an angled liner brush at the end clean up a bit.

I usually do not as I cannot seem to get the line as perfect as I want so I stick to the tried and true pencil....I do like the Master Precise All Day. That is another problem that I have, albeit a pencil or liquid, it seems to run, bleed or just completely be gone after a few hours. Not the Maybelline EyeStudio Master Precise Allday! wow. this stuff is easy too apply and stays put! I will definitely buy this product. This was my all time favourite eyeliner, perfect to control with a flexible tip now it’s been changed it’s hard to have any control it’s longer so smudges and leaves marks on eye lid when lifting. Terrible such a shame.

Good value, great price!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was really excited to try this eyeliner from Maybelline. Its a great value. I really liked the felt tip & its easy glide applicator. It is pretty pigmented. Though it initially wore pretty well, there was some creasing/ transfer after a couple of hours on my eyelids. Though waterproof, it wasnt smudge proof on my eyelid. ( My eye area was well prepped, I used eye primer & eyeshadow too) So of your eyelid is oily, there may be some slight transferring. I would certainly recommend this for is someone just trying out a liquid eyeliner for the first time. You wont be disappointed at using this to try for the first time. I received this as a complimentary gift.

Not happy with the new so called designed! I've been using Maybelline Master Precise Liquid Liner for years!! If I could give this no star I would! Worst eyeliner ever! Now I have to look for another brand!

Bring back the old one!!

I loved the original Master Precise liquid eyeliner. Application was always perfect, not scratchy, didn't bleed etc. This one is rubbish. I'm so disappointed. Have hunted high and low to try to stock up on the old version but can't find it anywhere. Please save me the search for a new eyeliner and just bring back the old one that was tried and true

Both new formula and applicator tip are terrible!

Hi there,
I honestly used to love the old Master Precise liquid eyeliner, this new one is terrible! Not only does the liquid eyeliner bleed, but it also completely dries out by the third use! Thought perhaps it was only a one time faulty eyeliner, but same thing happened to four I had purchased. The tip is difficult to master, unlike the original Master Precise liquid eyeliner. Really disappointing considering they cost $25 each! Please, PLEASE bring back the original Master precise liquid eyeliner (the one I've attached)!

No liquid comes out of the tip

I bought this product today and when I tried it on no liner would come out of the tip and it was very dry. The only way it would come out is when you pressed it really hard or stamped it on your face, which would case it to smudge and look messy. It was very inconsistent and it would come out every now and then but it would either come out with very small product or way to much which would cause it to smudge. I am so disappointed because it is such a nice shape and I thought it would be so nice. This product is unusable and was a waist of money.

Please bring back the old design!! This new design is absolute rubbish! I can't emphasize enough how rubbish it is. I'm so annoyed. I've been using this eyeliner for years! Now I have to search for a new and possibly more expensive one.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This liner is a smooth, matte black felt tip. It applies steadily with no skips, and is easy to correct and layer on itself. The point is very precise! There was minimal flaking at 6 hours, but was still a nice solid matte line. At 18 hours it was more prone to flaking. However it was wearing off evenly and if you weren't looking too closely, the line appeared to still be straight and dark. I did a wear test for the full 24 hour claim. Although it was ready to be removed at hour 21, it held on for the full time, including through sleep. I'll be confident reaching for this liner when I need one that lasts all day and night.
