[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received these products complimentary from #Maybelline and #Influenster in exchange for my honest review. I am reviewing like this due to the campaign disappearance app glitch that is still not resolved for me to review through the actual campaign on my account. This product was unsatisfactory for me. It’s too wet and too heavy a formula. There is no way you could apply more than one coat if you needed nor wanted too. Additionally I received the brownish black shade which I would never purchase when buying a mascara I only wear black. The only thing I liked about the product was the brush was good other than that this product is a no for me.

Effective and affordable mascara

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was sent the brownish black color of the Maybelline Colossal Curl Bounce Waterproof Mascara for free in exchange for my honest review. First of all, I like the curved brush. I thought it added a nice curl to my lashes as I applied the mascara, which could eliminate the need for an eyelash curler. This shade is definitely more subtle, so it works best for natural makeup days. The mascara separates and curls the lashes fairly well for the price point. I will say that I did experience more fallout than I would have liked, even in the dry winter air. Overall I think this is a good option for the price point and I would happily recommend it.

Decent fullness, but uncurled my lashes

The good: lots of clump-free volume that didn't bleed
The not-so-good: The reason I bought this was not for the bleed-free volume since I can get that in some other mascaras, but it was for the curling. My lashes are straight. They didn't curl at all when I applied this. Then I tried curling my lashes before applying--they went totally straight immediately. I tried a few more times, even curling them extra before applying, and they went straight. I tried applying more, less, still straightened.
This turned out to be a lash straightener instead of a curler. Disappointed. Threw it away as soon as I bought a different brand that worked.
No, I do not recommend this product.

Good Waterproof Option

I have very straight lashes, so waterproof is always preferred to help hold the curl. The slightly curved brush was nice to help get smaller lashes with ease. The formula helped hold the curl for quite some time, however after 6 hrs there was a bit of smudging. I do have more oily lids, but has held up better than other waterproof mascaras (drugstore and prestige). Main reason why I took off a star. It was also easy to remove vs some other brands that make me feel like I’m ripping my lashes off no matter how long I leave the remover on.

Unfortunately, it has not been my favorite to use, and I don't think I will end up using the rest of the product. I think the color and formula is great, opaque, smooth, and easy to apply, but it irritates my eyes throughout the day while I wear it. My eyes end up really red and itchy about halfway through the day whenever I use this. It's really unfortunate, because I think it looks amazing on and the curl it offers is fantastic, but just not worth irritated eyes.
