This is a great product for your handbag or to travel with as you don't need a sharpener because it just screws up. It is a gel formula which means it's easy to apply and is versatile enough for your upper and lower lashes. I have it in onyx and just use it on special occasions as I typically don't wear eyeliner everyday. This lasts fairly well on the upper lashes but I find it isn't as good for the water line and can be a little bit hard to get dark enough. Overall it is a good budget option for anyone on the go.

NOT THE SAME PENCILTHE ONYX IS NOT THE SAME PENCIL, SOMETHING CHANGED-NO LONGER STAYS ON AT ALL, SMEARS. CAN NOT GET A STRAIGHT LINE NO MATTER HOW HARD YOU TRY. USED TO STAY ON ALL DAY, NOW IT DOES NOT EVEN GO ON AT ALL. WATERPROOF-NOT AND NOT UNSTOPPABLE, MAYBELLINE STATES PENCIL WAS NOT CHANGED,WILL NOT PURCHASE AGAIN.

I'm not alone!I'm am so glad to read that I am not going crazy and others are experiencing the same issues! I too have used the onyx unstoppable liner for years and years! Loved it! My go to!! Better than any dept store liner. Trust me I've sold a few different lines and tried many others. My last 2-3 purchased have been going on horrible! Not black. More charcoal. Very splotchy. Going over it again just seems to rub off the 1st layer. I've been having to add a liquid liner over the top...which I'm not fond of using liquid. I've read Maybellines responses that they know nothing of a formula change but that seems odd. Either they are selling expired products or the formula did indeed change. There is no other explanation now that I know so many others are experiencing the same thing. Please do not ask me to call your hotline. I dont have time for that. Fyi- I have purchased from Walmart and Walgreens. Maybe they are selling expired liner...which seems not likely since Walmart is always out of the onyx!!!

I bought this gel eyeliner in the 'Expresso' shade to add to my smoky eye tool kit & was really impressed with the formulation of the product! I use the pencil to line my lower lashline lightly and then gradually fill in a much thicker line on my upper lashes on the lashline in a slightly larger wing shape than I'll use my black liquid eyeliner to go over (this adds depth to your winged eyeliner as there is a expresso-hued shadow just above the strong winged line - I got this tip at a Bobbi Brown store in San Francisco!). The staying power of the product is excellent as it's a waterproof gel (it won't smudge or budge on you once you've applied it) but is easy enough to remove at the end of the day with micellar water or a make-up remover. The design of the product is great, no sharpener required as the swivel tip makes it easy to use even if you don't have much time on your hands. If you don't want a super-strong winged liner you can also just use this gel eyeliner on it's own in any of the darker shades, it's quite a versatile product!

Soft creamy pencil, easy to apply.I've been buying this eyeliner for the last few years since my original maybelline eyeliner stopped being available in Australia. This is the only one I have found that is soft and creamy with a strong black line and doesn't tug at my eyes.

New packaging, new formulaI have been using this ever since the great wear eyeliner was discontinued. The formula has changed with the new packaging. Black looks more like a grey. No pigment anymore and does not apply like it used.
