Volum' Express® The Falsies® Mascara

I use the washable daily and it is amazing. Product does exactly as advertised if applied properly. It does take multiple coats with drying in between but it individually defines each Lash. My problem is the waterproof version. I accidentally purchased it because the packaging is not well marked. It never fully dries and feels gooey and gummy on my lashes. I did not realize it was waterproof until I went to remove it. Soap and water would not touch it in fact it made my eyelashes Clump together even more. I tried using micellar water as well as an oil-based makeup remover. Took me at least 30 minutes to get it all off. I had to be very careful as to not pull my eyelashes out. This is probably the worst waterproof product I've ever used

After purchasing Maybelline Volume Express for the first time, bringing it home and trying it, I knew this was a mascara that I would be using for a very long time, if not forever. I love a curved brush, which Maybelline Volume Express has, for applying my mascara as it makes it so much easier for me to apply. I have very short, stubby, and barely there lashes, so my lashes need all the volume and help they can get! This mascara made my lashes much more voluminous. The only time there was clumping was if I applied an excess of mascara.

I've been a Maybelline loyalist since I first started wearing makeup in 1994, the mascara being a consistent performer. Now I'm working as a makeup artist and reviewer, I love telling the beauty world about quality finds at low prices. The Falsies drew me in with the name alone- I HATE applying lashes, so I'm all for faking it ! The brush has a spoon-like shape that allows you to cover the entire length of your lash line, coating each lash as you work the wand. No craxy scents or smells, as I've encountered in some mascara formulas. Washes clean with makeup remover - no irritating your delicate eye area trying to clean it! Finally, the formula LASTS- you won't be dipping into a dry vial in 2 weeks. Top to bottom, an outstanding product and value.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’ve always been a maybelline girl and have tried an older version of this mascara before and didn’t like it due to clumping issues. Now however, the formula has improved and although the effect is not as dramatic as advertised for someone who has short eyelashes like me, I found it was over all better than the previous formula. The wand however was flimsy. I dont know whether the new wand was to help apply mascara better because it was more flexible but it wasn’t the case for me. I kept trying to not get mascara on the wrong places.

I have gone thru tones of mascaras over the years and unlike a lot of my friends I will NOT wear fake eyelashes. I have always felt like I wanted to make the most of what I have plus don't have time or patience for false lashes. All other mascaras weigh my lashes down. Once I started using falsies I started getting asked if I was wearing fake eyelashes. So I knew I had found my product! Then the angel wings came out and love that product even more. I put a layer of my falsies and then use the angel wings to detail my lashes.

Gives volume without the spider effect. No clumps. I did need to use another mascara for corner lashes but I like this. I got the blackest black and it's good.

I really love the brush on this particular mascara. I have straight, fine lashes and this really lifts them and plumps them up. The formula is nice for volume because it is a mousse-like texture, and it doesn't really get very flaky until the tube dries out a lot. I could usually get about two months of daily use, which isn't too bad at this price point.

It so fast and easy to apply. Just two real slow swipes from near the root and outward makes my lashes look thicker and stays on without smudging for at least 8 hours or more! I am not allergic to it at all either. This is so much better than Almay's mascara. A little goes a long way. The only thing is the wand is curved and hard to get all the excess off when brand new. After a few times, it works great. I love it! It is my favorite. It easily comes off with makeup remover or body shampoo and a washcloth.

I’ve used this mascara for years but the last couple tubes I’ve bought were really clumpy, thick, and irritates my eyes... it feels as though I’m putting glue in my eyelashes and the mascara feels really sticky and my eyelashes clump together if I touch them at all during the day. It’s IMPOSSIBLE to remove no matter what kind of makeup remover I use. Makes my eyes feel dry too. This mascara used to be the best but I’m afraid I’m gonna have to fin something new because it annoys me yo wear it now.

Very pretty lashes with a fresh tube. Definitely wouldn’t compare them to falsies, though. Also, the mascara dries out kind of quick so if you want to get the most use out of it, you need to use it at least 3 times a week. I bounce back and forth between mascaras depending on what look I’m trying to achieve and was shocked when I wanted to use this after about 2 weeks of reaching for other product and had seen that it had dried up a tad bit. All in all, a good mascara, just use it while you can.

I'm not too picky about my mascara, it's about the only makeup I wear, because I have blonde lashes. I also do not usually care enough to write reviews, but if I can prevent anyone from buying this mascara I will have done a service to humanity.

This does not "lift and separate" as it claims. It looks thick and clumpy. I agree with Curly Girly in that the brush is so flimsy it's hard to get the mascara on. AND THEN it is impossible to get off. I know I should probably use eye makeup remover, but soap and water should do the trick after 15 minutes of scrubbing without making my skin feel raw.

I just bought mine and probably used it 5 times and threw it away. I thought I should give it to somebody rather than be wasteful, but I wouldn't feel right subjecting a friend to this atrocity.

Well, I sure hope that Maybelline keeps making this one. It checks all the boxes. It lifts the lashes, multiplies them, thickens them, and curls them. Moreover, it is less irritating on my eyes than the other mascaras I have tried, and I can rinse it with just water and it comes off. I think I may get rid of all my other mascaras after trying this one, because this is the only one I want and need. If I had to use only one mascara for the rest of my life, it is this one, hands down.

I normally use a different brand of mascara. A friend said she really like the mascara and I need to get a new one great opportunity to try a new brand of mascara. I tried the mascara with the brush and I had the reapply a few times.
I had a few unused mascara brushes and used the one the next day and the mascara went on much better.
The brush has away to much flexibility. When I fist saw the brush I thought it was defected. I looked on line and saw that's how the brush was.

A classic fav of mine. This was my go to for such a long time. I repurchased over and over again. It really made my lashes look like falsies and I love it. It gave me everything you want in a mascara. Lift, curl, volume, length, separation. Nice formula, you could build it up without it clumping or sticking, it didn't transfer. The only reason I stopped using is because I tried and fell in love with another Maybelline mascara. They just do a great mascara. I'm going to repurchase.

I’ve been using this mascara for a couple years now. I tried so many different mascaras before finding the perfect one. The brush is very flexible and has a curve so it’s easy to apply, both waterproof and washable are amazing! My eyelashes are very short and light but this mascara works just as described, my lashes almost look false with the falsies! I hope they never stop making this! I highly recommend, the mascara has almost the sameness effects as wearing false lashes!!

I've used a lot of mascaras over the years, and a lot of Maybelline mascaras, and have never felt let down so much by one to leave 1-star review! But this mascara is no good. Within a 2 hours of applying, the mascara had smudged onto my undereyes, and got worse over the course of the day until I had massive dark undereyes after just 5 hours of wearing and almost no mascara left on my lashes. I'll certainly never buy again, and I don't even think I'll be finishing this tube.

This mascara adds a lot of volume without looking like you have a lot of makeup on. Also even though it is not waterproof I have cried many times with it on and when I saw that my mascara was still perfect I stopped crying because my eyelashes looked so good. I have really nice eyelashes so it might not be as waterproof for you if you need to wear more than I do but it’s still amazingly waterproof nonetheless. Maybe her life is together maybe it’s Maybelline.

I've only been using a few days and am already disappointed. I have straight, asian eyelashes and am always looking for something that will provide volume, length and curl. I usually have to use a curler after applying mascara.

This mascara flakes immediately. It's very difficult to wipe off the flakes and I end up removing my very expensive eye concealer - making this product a deal breaker. It also has a very strong chemical smell upon opening the wand.

I love this mascara for it's volumizing and lengthening abilities, but after about 3 weeks it starts to flake by the end of the day. then after another week so that is 4 weeks total it will start to flake when I am applying it. when I finally decided to give up and by Covergirl lashblast then I realized how I had been putting up with a flaking mess for way too long. I wish this mascara would fix its flaking problem and then I could go back to using it.

I thought that my tube of this dried out really quickly (like in 2 months time) so it was harder to use after a while and I had to throw it away. When I first opened it, it did a great job of adding nice thick volume to my eye lashes and also made them curl up a bit. I did notice that this tended to transfer to my upper lid which was annoying. But for the cheap price of this mascara and the fact that you can find it anywhere its a good drugstore buy.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This mascara is one of my new favorites! I love that the brush is a little thinner and has a slight U shape to mimic your lash line. Application is very easy and doesn't get mascara all over your lid or the corner of your eye. The bristles are small enough that they coat your upper and lower lashes well, and it's super easy to apply multiple layers without it looking clumpy. For the price, this mascara should be a staple in everyone's makeup bag.

I’ve used Faslies mascara for years now and I’ll never use anything else. It’s definitely my favorite I’ve ever used, EVER. It really does give the look of false lashes, which I love. I’ve even had someone ask me if I’m wearing fake lashes, that’s how good this mascara makes your lashes look! The mascara also doesn’t clump, and the separation is amazing. It also makes my eyelashes look very long, which is nice because my lashes are quite short.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This mascara is great for lengthening! I don't find it to be super volumizing, just enough to make lashes look good. The curved brush takes a little to get used to but I prefer them to short-bristled, stiff wands so I consider it a plus. The formula lasts and didn't flake. No irritation for my sensitive eyes, either. Not difficult to remove with makeup remover. Overall it's a very solid drugstore mascara that I think is worth the price.

I recently purchased Maybelline Falsies Mascara. I am very disappointed in both products. The mascara itself is very thick and weighs down my lashes, leaving them clumped and heavy. The wands are wiggly and the brush is not as pictured. My sister is a makeup artist and I asked her what I was doing wrong, she had me show her how I was applying the make-up and she said I was doing everything correct according to the provided instructions.

The color and coverage are good - but it takes FOREVER to dry!!! Don't look down, don't look up, in fact, don't even blink or you will RUIN your eye makeup because it will get everywhere it shouldn't be. I feel like they need to sell this mascara with the "eye-opening apparatus" (for lack of a better term) they use in A Clockwork Orange so you can't blink- otherwise you end up with a big mess and a lot of wasted time fixing said mess.

I am giving this 4 stars because it is so inexpensive and it works great!!!! It love this mascara as it adds length and fullness without being too thick!

The only reason this isn’t 5-stars from me, is that it doesn’t last as long as other brands. You don’t get a tons of uses out of the tube but I don’t feel bad about it because for the cost- you can’t beat the quality. Maybelline Volum' Express® The Falsies® Washable Mascara

I was generally impressed with this product, especially with the high quality results from a low price point product. My only complaint is that this mascara was better for increasing length than volume to my lashes. Generally, I prefer a mascara that successfully accomplishes both. However, this product is better than I expected and I would recommend it for when you’re searching for a cheap product that achieves some results.

If you are looking for a quality mascara that doesn’t break the bank, this is my choice of drug store mascara. The consistently goes on similar to prestige brands, I’d say similar to the NARS Climax or Benefit Rollerlash and is not clumpy. It also has a unique, curved applicator that is perfect for applying the product, I think my only comment with the applicator is that it’s a bit flimsy but, nonetheless, a must-have!

People say that Maybelline has the best drug store mascara, and they're right. There's no comparison. There is no other mascara at this price point that can do what these do or are as easy to apply. I'm not going to give a different review for each kind, because they are all basically the same for me. All of these Maybelline mascaras are in my makeup bag and I use them all the time. The Falsies ones are my favorite.

I bought this because I saw a pic on Instagram of my friend's lashes and she recommended it. I'm a make up fanatic and I always go back to name brands after trying regular makeup. Its just not the same. The brush is very flimsy and not stern. The mascara is thick but it does not beat the Bare Mineral Lash Domination brand that I use. This is ok for teenagers, but not for me. I will pass this along to my 16 year old.

It also lasts throughout an entire typical workday which is great. It really made a difference for me because they not only lengthened my eyelashes but they defined them them and made them pop too. It was a very noticeable difference that I received many compliments on.
